Healthwatch

Who are Healthwatch?

They are the independent national champion for people who use health and social care services. They find out what matters to people and they use them to make sure they receive the support they need.

How do they work?

There is a local Healthwatch in every area of England. They question people’s views of the services, what they like, what they don’t like and what they could improve and share these views with the people who have the power to make a change. They also help people find information about services that are in their local area.

Nationally and locally, they have the power to ensure those in health and social care listen to the people’s views so that everyone has a voice. They also encourage health and social care services to involve people in decisions that affect them.

So what is their approach?

The people’s views come first. No matter how loud or quiet, they listen to everyone.

They listen to what matters to you and work with others to find ideas that can support everyone in the future. They are independent and committed to making the big difference to the people (aka you).
